Getting to know Elsa
A Texas native, Elsa was born and raised in the DFW area. After spending a few years in California for school and working with nonprofits in Illinois, she soon realized that Texas was the best state in the nation. She eventually returned to Dallas for her Masters degree in counseling from Dallas Theological Seminary, and is now able to get her fill of Blue Bell ice cream regularly.
Elsa was exposed at an early age to the importance of mental health. Many of her family and friends found healing through counseling over the years, which inspired Elsa to be part of the process of helping others. Elsa believes counseling is one of the safest spaces to explore life’s difficulties. She has confidence in the power of healthy relationships to heal, and loves empowering clients to reshape their perspectives in order to work through their struggles. Outside of counseling, Elsa loves a good read on a comfortable couch. If she’s not reading, you’ll find her exploring Dallas trails with her husband and their dog.
style & Approach
Elsa works to help each of her clients find worth and value in their lives. She believes that every experience adds to a person’s beliefs and perspectives. She works with clients through the counseling relationship to reshape what they expect of the world and of themselves. Together, Elsa and her clients work to understand how past experiences have shaped them and how they can take control of their own story in future experiences. Elsa regards struggles and difficulties as part of a meaningful life. Her counseling office is a safe space for clients to explore their struggles and move forward with greater clarity and purpose.
