Getting to know Sucely
A daughter of the King, meaning Sucely has been adopted by God through the sacrifice Christ made on the cross and now she is His child. Also a second generation Guatemalan-American who understands the difficulty of identity yet loves all cultures as well as a musician and lover of the arts. She is a daughter of a Christ loving widow and an incredible father who met his maker when Sucely was only a child. A learner and a teacher at heart who longs for all to learn, grow, and heal. She is a counselor and a counselee who knows the difficulty of the process and the joy of results.
Sucely believes In Jesus Christ the Son of God who came to redeem us. Even so, there is still great difficulty and pain in our wait for His return so we have the Holy Spirit to guide us in the mean time. She believes that counseling is a gift He has given us in the church so that we can heal from the hurts in our lives. She believes that, together, we all have the ability to heal. She believes in hope and that because of it we can aspire to be healed and complete.
Sucely is finishing her Masters of Arts in Biblical Counseling from Dallas Theological Seminary in May of 2018. Her personal goal is to understand her anxiety and trusting God will help her heal from it through the help of her personal counselor. She is working on taking control of her health as her holistic doctor helps her understand her body and what is best for it. Sucely is learning to hold all of her plans with open hands so that if they are not something that God wants for her He can take them and replace them with better plans.
Sucely had had the privilege of working with adolescents and young adults via the school system and the church. Because of this, and through her personal life experience, She has gained an understanding of how difficult it is to live those phases of life. Her goal is to help any one who needs help navigating these waters. She also longs to help those who have had difficulty with their family system and their cultural background. Sucely loves to see when a person comes to a point of understanding and goes through the process of healing and growth.
style & Approach
When it comes to counseling, Sucely takes a person by person approach. We are all different and have come to counseling for different reasons. To best serve her clients, Sucely gets to know them and their needs and works in a manner that best serves them. She does emphasize that it is important to look at our family background to see where we get some of the patterns that we have. Such as our patterns of to decision making, the way we treat ourselves, as well as the way we view others, etc. Sucely is a Christian, therefore, she applies truths that are in scripture that will help her clients heal and grow. Sucely’s hope is to provide a safe place where clients can come with their deepest wound and process them completely.
