Getting to know Laura
Laura Harrison is the Clinical Director at our Richardson and Plano location and a Licensed Professional Counselor Supervisor (LPC-S) with over nine years of experience working with adults and couples navigating life’s more difficult seasons. A lifelong Texan who grew up in Plano, Laura brings warmth, insight, and a deep respect for each client’s unique story.
Before entering the counseling field, Laura worked in a variety of people-centered roles—graphic designer, headhunter, curriculum writer, and barista—all rooted in her passion for connection and curiosity about the human experience. That same passion drives her therapeutic work today, as she helps individuals and couples find clarity, healing, and renewed direction.
Outside the therapy room, Laura loves traveling with her husband and adult children - and when she is not on a trip, she's probably planning the next one. She also enjoys getting close to the action as a freelance sports photographer.
Style & Approach
Laura is a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional (CCTP) and trained in Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART), which she uses to support clients dealing with the effects of trauma, chronic stress, and relational pain. Her approach is grounded in collaboration, compassion, and evidence-based techniques that help clients feel safe and empowered.
In her work with couples, Laura offers a calm, relational presence—guiding partners through communication challenges, emotional disconnection, and long-standing patterns that keep them stuck. Whether couples are working to repair, reconnect, or make hard decisions, she creates space for honest conversation and deeper understanding.
Laura encourages clients to consider how their thoughts, physical health, relationships, and spiritual lives all shape their mental well-being. She has studied extensively how nutrition, exercise, and sleep impact mental health and often integrates these elements into her work with clients when helpful.
