Beginning the JourneyLife has a way of catching up with us, whether it’s the weight of past experiences, overwhelming transitions, or feeling disconnected from who God created us to be. If you’re feeling lost, stuck, or simply tired of carrying it all alone, you’re not alone. Therapy can be a sacred space to pause, reflect, and begin the process of healing the body, mind, and spirit.
Meet Javonna
Javonna Hamilton, M.Ed., LPC is a Licensed Professional Counselor who works with adolescents and adults navigating trauma, anxiety, depression, grief, and major life transitions. Rooted in her faith, Javonna believes in the inherent worth and dignity of every person and offers a compassionate space for clients to be seen, heard, and supported.
Clients often describe her as warm, genuine, and deeply compassionate. Her approach is nurturing and empathetic, while also gently challenging clients to explore patterns, beliefs, and emotional wounds that may be keeping them stuck. Her mission is to help people come home to themselves and, when welcomed, back into deeper connection with God.
Her Approach
Javonna integrates Person-Centered Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Somatic Exploration, and Trauma-Informed Care to create a personalized experience for each client. She honors each person’s pace and story while holding space for truth-telling, healing, and lasting transformation.
As a Christian counselor, Javonna offers the option to incorporate faith-based practices such as prayer, Scripture, and spiritual reflection into sessions. While her work is deeply shaped by her relationship with Christ, she welcomes clients from all faiths or no faith at all. Whether or not spiritual exploration is part of your journey, you’ll find a safe, respectful, and compassionate space to do the work that matters most to you.
A guiding quote in her work is:
“If you're always looking for the next moment, you'll never appreciate it when it finally comes.”
She believes that trauma and pain often pull us out of the present moment. But God invites us back to a place of peace, presence, and purpose.
Why She Became a Therapist
Javonna’s call to therapy grew from her deep interest in people’s stories and how God can redeem even the most painful chapters. Her personal journey of releasing shame, people-pleasing, and distorted self-worth gives her a deep sense of empathy for others walking similar paths. She knows the courage it takes to face what hurts and believes that healing is not only possible but deeply aligned with God’s heart for us.
Who She Helps
Javonna is especially passionate about supporting those who have spent much of their lives taking care of others but now feel called to reconnect with themselves and with God. She works with clients carrying the long-term impact of trauma, emotional wounds, or identity struggles that have shaped how they view themselves and their relationships.
Whether you're adjusting to a new season, working through old pain, or simply seeking clarity and peace, Javonna is honored to walk beside you as you move toward greater wholeness, freedom, and connection—with yourself, others, and God.
Outside the Therapy Room
When she’s not counseling, Javonna finds joy in her relationship with Jesus, spending time with family, dancing, and scrapbooking. These creative and grounding outlets help her stay rooted in her purpose. Her faith is the foundation of her life and the lens through which she offers care. At the same time, her practice remains a welcoming space for anyone seeking healing, no matter where you are on your spiritual journey.
